Test information: Human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) is closely related to HHV-6. It also causes exanthem subitum and is likewise associated with a febrile disease of early childhood. Testing should be used in conjunction with patient history and clinical judgement.

Availability: Referred to UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Virus Reference Department (VRD): Monday - Friday during routine hours: 08:45 - 17:15.
