Non-Indigenous Mycoses Serology
Alias: Endemic Dimorphic Fungi, histoplasmosis, coccidioidomycosis, blastomycosis, paracoccidioidomycosis
Discipline: Virology
Test information: Endemic deep or systemic mycoses are common in specific geographical areas of the world. Although the manifestations of endemic mycoses are well defined, their diagnosis cannot be solely based on clinical presentation, since symptoms overlap among them and with other infectious diseases. Serology may aid in the diagnosis of non-indigenous mycoses in combination with clinical, epidemiological data.
Only send after discussion with consultant microbiologist.
