Test information: Detect and quantify Epstein-Barr Virus DNA from blood. Used to monitor transplant patients for primary or reactivated EBV infection and to elucidate suspected primary EBV infection in immunocompetent individuals. In very specific situations it can be used to monitor patients with EBV-associated tumours.

Availability: Referred to Severn Pathology North Bristol NHS Trust: Monday - Friday during routine hours: 08:45 - 17:15.
