Test information: Detect and quantify Cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNA in blood, tissue, and urine. Used for routine surveillance in patients at risk of active CMV infection / disease, monitoring response to immune suppression dose reduction and/or antiviral therapy, or suspected active/primary CMV infection. Organ or bone marrow transplant recipient, immunocompromised host, congenital CMV infection, serology suggesting active CMV infection in normal host.
Availability: Referred to Severn Pathology North Bristol NHS Trust: Monday - Friday during routine hours: 08:45 - 17:15.
