Test information: Helpful in the investigation of suspected post-infectious sequelae such as a reactive arthritis or Guillain-Barré syndrome. Not useful for the diagnosis of acute campylobacter disease.

Availability: Referred to Preston Microbiology referral laboratory: Monday - Friday during routine hours: 08:45 - 17:15.

• Minimum-clotting time 30 minutes.

Units and Reference Ranges / Interpretation

Campylobacter IgA: Screening titre <5 Units/mL.
Campylobacter IgM: Screening titre <20 Units/mL.
Campylobacter IgG: Screening titre <2 Units/mL.
Comments: Suggest sending a further serum sample, if symptoms of recent onset, to check for a rise in antibody levels.
