Test information: To demonstrate the presence of Heinz bodies in peripheral blood in cases of suspected chemical poisoning, G6PD deficiency, Pyruvate Kinase deficiency, drug intoxication or an unstable haemoglobin. The test is only performed at the discretion of a Consultant haematologist.
