Mast Cell Tryptase
Alias: N/A
Discipline: Immunology
Test information: Anaphylactic reactions (IgE dependant or non-IgE dependant) are mediated by the release of vasoactive mediators, including tryptase, from mast cells and circulating basophils. Serial measurements of Tryptase are made to determine if a mast cell-mediated reaction to the anaesthetic is evident. Take sample straight away and then repeat 1 hour later.
